PANEL DISCUSSIONS
Left Bank Book Exhibit
The following pages will take you on the dialogue journey begun in Preliminary Discussions and continued on the walls of Left Bank Book Store in St. Louis. The panels were made in workshops and individual artist studios and then brought to VDP for jurying. Jurors Ann Haubrich and Jonathon Smith selected 14 panels from a field of about 50 to start the show. Over the next two weeks, the rest of the panels were brought to the show.
THE FIRST FOURTEEN (in the order the Curators wished them to be viewed):
1."Wear My Shoes"  by Papa Lew

This panel was made as part of the EarthArt Collective (sm) in dialogue with Sandra Nickeson and Michael Christy at Guardian Angel Settlement.
"He was a pioneer."

2. "Bound by the Past? 'Cause the Future is Bright" by Jason McClelland

This panel was made as part of a group dialogue sponsored by Visual Dialogues Project.  September, 1999
"The potential of St. Louis is tremendous, but will not be realized without action. Currently there are many things holding St. Louis back from being a world-class city again. The future generation(s) have the opportunity to take action to affect the appropriate change."

3. Mississippi River Garden" by Sandra Nickeson

This panel was made as part of the EarthArt Collective (sm) dialogue at Guardian Angel Settlement.
"Diversity nurtured by the River of Life. Such difference. Such beauty. Such wonder."
