Panel Discussions: St. Louis
Part of an on-going dialogue created by St. Louis artists.
More panels created in a workshop, August 22 at Storefront Studio in Maplewood:

                                             cray pas on cardboard                                                          Shelly
"This is the first thing that came to mind: what St. Louis is not to me- not being from here,
I measure it against Tennessee, against places with oceans, mountains."

                                           Construction materials on wood                                            Carol
"Construction, de-construction, rubble, especially rubble: the entire time I've been in St. Louis (33 years) I've lived with
destruction and re-building both literally and metaphorically. My usual driving routes take me over deteriorating highways,
past blasted building sites, and through shabby but beautiful streetscapes. It's a terribly frustrating but still living old city!!!!"

                            pastel                                        Eva
"The river - a big part of this area and a personal symbol in my life.
It symbolizes vitality and growth and strength for me."
