Panel Discussions Workshop, September 12, 1999

assemblages of found materials, charcoal, and 4 x 12 inch panels                                         Carol

These panels present variations on the theme of construction and decay in the human-made landscape. The top panel shows a city sidewalk through a fence. The moon has puddled in the rain on the walk, and elements of the landscape are trapped in the fence (tissue, leaf, feather, other scraps). The middle panel shows the disintegration of one woman's dream of a new business housed in a historic building that was in a process of deterioration beyond her means to fix. The bottom panel is "rubble" and debris found at random inside the building and represents a sort of archaeology of lost potential.
